Love is a many splendor feeling;
it comforts and cherishes;
it holds and cares;
it protects and glorifies.
But most of all
Love looks out for the loved one
before it looks out for itself.

A sword.
A two edged sword.
A sword that cuts both right and left,
up and down,
front and back.
A sword that harms both friend and foe,
and can harm ones self if not used properly.
This sword is called by many names,
"but the greatest of these,
is love."

Love,
A sweat scent of a rose.
A cool zephyr in summer.
The soft caress of a feather.
The feeling I have
when with you.

Heaven and Hell
Earth and Sky
Opposites forever,
till the day I die.
People come
and people go,
But friends today
were friends long ago.
Loves are lost,
and loves are found,
But true love continues
and abounds.
Day and Night,
Fire and Water
Opposites till
the day I falter.

I'm stronger than the mind,
more intelligent than the stars,
wiser than the heavens,
and more caring than the human heart.

(to William Hale)
Complicated,
Confusing.
My mind not understanding.
Feelings
In turmoil.
Love not withstanding.
Friend,
or enemy.
Which may he be.
Both,
And neither.
Is this one to me.

(while walking the POL yard)
Here I stand at the
gates of hell.
Watching all that
is not well.
Walking in mud
muck and mire.
Waiting and watching
at someone's desire.
Waiting till the day when
the fire shall flame.
Then shall hell
rise again.

(dedicated to Tonia and Chris on 5 Dec 1988)
In a world where
Bad deeds are celebrated
And good one regulated,
To page 49 of the paper
Where first place goes to push and shove,
And the cost of things is put above
The cost of time together
Isn't it wonderful that,
From time to time,
The best of us
Reach out and touch
The rest of us?

(Dedicated to Jennifer Verhoeve)
Just when all seems lost in the dark,
Enter a light a Gentle as a lark.
Next to her no light I can see
Now with her do dear to me.
I find in her the peace I need,
For my should to heal, and my heart to plant new seed.
Evermore time shall her memory be
Remembered as closely as I wish with her to be.

(Inspired by Jennifer Verhoeve)
Lost and lone, in the night of day
Only to be found, in the heart of a babe.
Verily it is said, to those who believe,
Everyman's dream, Everyman's need.
Lonely I seem, when away from she,
Only when with her, can my heart be free.
Vast it seem are distance that part,
Everyone's love, from everyone's heart.
Longing I feel, for that springtime dew.
Oh for that time when one comes from two.
Violins will sing a waltz of love,
Every bird in harmony, will sing from above.
